From this page you can download a trial version of the Belleguelle Peak Programme Meter for Windows. This application has been designed for the video editing community providing a visual indication of audio levels. It provides an indication of the individual channels of a stereo signal and the mono sum and difference of those signals. The meter emulates the response of the BBC standard PPM including attack rate, decay rate and hold time. In addition, overload indicators to the top right of each pane light up and slowly decay when either of the needles for that pane exceeds a threshold that is preset by the user. This allows a clear visual indication that the signal level is too high. Because the meter is being used in a digital system, a further 'Clipped' indicator appears if the left or right channel is clipped by the analogue to digital conversion, indicating that the signal will be distorted. This application has been thoroughly tested under Windows 2000 and Windows XP and, if there is demand, will be upgraded for Vista. It is not designed for use with the Windows 95/98/ME/NT versions of Windows.
